Governors

Our Team

Watling View’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) works in close partnership with its Governing Body to set the strategic vision for the school. The Governors role is to both support and challenge the senior leadership team. It meets formally four times per year, and has a range of committees examining school life in greater detail.

 

Jonathan Yeates

Chair of Governors. Co-opted Governor with responsibility for Leadership and Management and Business Development.

Jonathan joined as a co-opted governor in June 2023.  His current term runs from 22 June 2023 - 21 June 2027.  Jonathan works for a large digital consulting company and specialises in public service innovation.  Jonathan moved to St Albans from Australia in 2022.  He has two young children at a local primary school.  Jonathan is the Chair and serves on the Headteachers Performance Management, Finance and Resources, Teaching and Learning and Pay Committees.

Ginette Trenchfield

Vice-Chair of Governors. Co-opted Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding/Children Looked After and SEND

Ginette joined as a co-opted governor in June 2023. Her current term runs from 22nd June 2023 - 21 June 2027. She has worked at a London primary school for 13 years in roles such as teacher, senior leader and most recently special needs coordinator. She has led equality initiatives across the north London borough that she works in and has supported schools across the country as a Challenge Partner Reviewer. She lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and two young children.  Ginette serves on the Teaching and Learning Committee.

Jo Roberts

Staff Governor

Jo has worked at Watling View School for over 17 years.  She has always lived in St. Albans and has children who attend local schools.  Her current term runs from 21 September 2021 - 20 September 2025.  Jo serves on the Finance and Resources Committee.

Dr Neil Johns

Parent Governor with responsibility for Pupil Premium and Sports Premium

Neil is a parent governor of the school. His current term runs from 25 September 2019 - 24 September 2025. His eldest son Harrison attends the school. Having lived in Edinburgh for the last 10 years he and the family relocated to St. Albans. Neil was keen to be involved with the school to support his son and felt this was a proactive way to do so. He works as a surgeon specializing in managing patients with breast disease. Neil serves on the Teaching and Learning Committee. 

Jade Hunter

Parent Governor with responsibility for 14-19 Curriculum including Careers 

 

Jade is a parent governor of the school. Her current term runs from 8 November 2021 - 7 November 2025. She has two children, one of whom is a pupil at Watling View. She has lived local to St Albans all her life. Jade was keen to get involved in Watling View after seeing how well her daughter has progressed since joining in 2020. Jade is chair of the Teaching and Learning and Headteachers Performance Management Committees.

 

Persephone Henderson

 

Persephone works in go-to-market strategy, driving growth in commercial organisations within B2B sales. Persephone grew up in Harpenden and later moved back to St Albans after a stint in London.

Daniel Pruchnie 

 

Co-opted Governor with responsibility for Health and Safety and Premises. 

Dan is a co-opted governor of the school.  His current term runs from 26th November 2024 - 25th November 2028.  He works in the Accountancy sector as a Compliance Director leading areas of regulatory compliance.  He lives in Bushey with his wife and two young children.  Dan is chair of the Finance and Resources Committee.

 

Vicky Campos

With over 26 years of experience in education, I began my teaching career in my hometown of South Wales before relocating to London. After four years teaching in Hammersmith and Fulham, I moved to Hertfordshire, where I have worked in a variety of teaching and senior leadership roles across several schools. Since 2013, I have been the proud Headteacher of Boxmoor Primary School, where I am committed to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment. I live in Hemel Hempstead with my husband and remain passionate about supporting the local community through education.

Co-opted Governor with responsibility for Developing Teaching, Curriculum and Pupil Achievement.
