We work with families in our destination pathway meetings to look at what the most appropriate form of travel training is and the priority areas within this area.
The school has a HLTA who who currently works with identified pupils to support and develop pupils independence using public transport. Pupils are supported with clear next steps to promote independence and community access. This has included pupils independently being able to catch a bus from the town centre to school.
For pupils who are not supported by the travel trainer, using the destination pathways class teams are clear on the priority areas to work on when accessing the community.
