The Government is providing additional funding to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in schools. We will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils progress and participation in PE and school sport.

We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details. This will ensure that parents/carers and others are made fully aware of the PE and sporting provision at Watling View.

We believe in a holistic approach to the development of sport and physical activity for all. To raise participation achievement for all pupils we encourage collaboration and partnership working to make the best use of resources and enhance PE and sports provision.

Our rationale for the use of this funding is that it must be used so that all primary children benefit regardless of sporting ability.  Plans to see improvements in five key indications:

• Engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity.
• The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
• Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.
• Broader experience of a range of sports activities offered to all pupils.
• Increased participation in competitive sport.
