A big thank you to everyone for their amazing generosity so far in helping us raise money to buy and replace the items we have lost!

  • Waitrose Community Matters

    Thu 23 Jan 2020

We have been selected for the Waitrose ‘Community Matters’ scheme in February.

Our project, along with two other local projects, will go forward to a vote where customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite project each time they shop. Voting will take place throughout February in the St Albans branch of Waitrose (1 Ermine Close, Mayne Avenue, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL3 4JZ).

The projects will each receive a proportion of £1000 - the more votes (tokens) we receive, the larger the share.

Please ask for a green coin every time you shop and vote for Watling View School.

Please share this amongst your friends and family and within the local community. It would be amazing to get the most votes and a huge lump sum towards projects in school!

  • Martin Luther King Day

For more than three decades, the third Monday in January has been dedicated to celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King was an incredibly influential figure who helped shape America's history.

He was a civil rights activist who fought for racial equality.

We celebrated Martin Luther King Day today through class activities.

  • National Hat Day Assembly

    Wed 15 Jan 2020

Today we celebrated National Hat Day which has been celebrated since 1983 in museums, schools, libraries across the country.

A hat is one of the oldest human accessories dating back to approximately 5,000 years ago. Hats have been worn all throughout history for a variety of different purposes: to indicate social status or branch of military service; to indicate the wearer has a position of authority; for religious purposes or to denote nationality; for ceremonial or fashion purposes; or to protect the wearer from sun, rain or other hazards. It’s such an important article of clothing that millions of people all over the world will celebrate this day by dusting off their favourite hat and wearing it proudly in public.

Please see our wonderful range of hats worn during our assembly.
