On Thursday 26th May we held our Queen’s Jubilee Street Party. The whole school came together to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee with an outdoor picnic and party in the playground and pupils came dressed in the colours of the Union Flag – red, white and blue.
We had a theatre company called M&M, funded by Happy Days Charity come into school on Tuesday to deliver an interactive performance of Treasure Island.
Our students enjoyed this wonderful performance!
We are delighted to say that we received the highest number of votes for the Tesco Community Grants Scheme supporting our Early Years playground project. We will receive £1,500 towards our project!!!
On Wednesday 18th May we had our Sports Morning. All students took part in many different sporting events, such as running, parachute games, wheelbarrow races, scoop and ball, basketball and water balloons and bubbles. They all had and amazing morning, supported by the Sports Leaders from Samuel Ryder School.
It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents and friends of the students at the event cheering them on.
On Sunday the 15th May Francesco, Skyla, Casper, Thomas, William, Hannah H, Nathan and Raid went to watch the Basketball Finals at the O2. They watched the end of the Women’s and all of the men’s which was a very close game between the Leicester Riders and the London Lions. All the students had a fantastic time and enjoyed watching games, eating their tea and talking with their friends.
On Thursday 5th May pupils we held a theme day where pupils learned about the Muslim festival of Eid Al-Fitr. We wished Eid Mubarak to pupils and staff who had been celebrating and pupils were able to join in with a dance party, dressing up, activities in class, an assembly and an international food market.
