My name is Jude Dowdeswell and I am the Family Liaison Advisor.  

I have worked at Watling View School since 2011, initially working with Flow doing Horticulture with students and subsequently as a Teaching Assistant in the classroom. I have worked with many of the children and young people, supporting all age groups. I have been the Home/School Liaison Worker since 2020.

I welcome families to Watling View School starting with a home visit alongside the class teacher to deliver information and a New Family Pack.  The purpose of my job is to:

• Support, empower, enhance and improve the quality of life of the children, young people and their families at Watling View School
• Work alongside staff, Parents, Carers and Young People to help identify early intervention with the involvement of specialist services and other agencies
• Support the families and young people with Clear Transition information from Children Services to Adult Services and on to Further Education
• Support the transition of children, young people and their families when entering and exiting school.

I am here to help families connect with the school to ensure their child or young person can get the best experience possible.
