Sensory Diet

At Watling View, we know and understand that many of our young people need a sensory diet as part of their sensory integration throughout their day.  By supporting pupils with their sensory diet throughout their day it helps pupils to be ready for learning.

We work closely with a OT who focuses on Sensory Integration for pupils and creates Sensory Integration plans for specific pupils.

It is important that pupils sensory diet is tailored to the individual and supports individuals with:

  • Touch (Tactile)
  • Sight (Visual)
  • Noise (Auditory)
  • Taste, Smell, Movement (Vestibular)
  • Body Awareness (Proprioception)

Alongside the sensory diets we run sensory circuits in departments each morning as well as having resources available for classes to run circuits at other times during the day.
