Charles repeated each sound and when given the choice of four, he matched a sticker (word) to a sound. He had a good pencil grip and with hand under hand support he traced each sound. He was engaged with minimal gestural support to keep on task.

During Numeracy, Othman explored the tray which had sand and potatoes. He was then given number card up to 3 representing how many potatoes to add. Othman was able to take out potatoes from the tray and put it on the correct number card. This was managed with verbal and physical prompting, his learning was achieved through hand over hand.

Jimmy independently accessed a bike in the playground, exploring it and working out how to use it. He understood to use his feet on the pedals and steer with his hands to be able to move on the bike in a desired direction. When not successful enough, he got off the bike and asked an adult, by grabbing her hand and leading them back to the bike. Once on, he wanted the adult to give him a push so he could start moving on consistently.

Evelina helped to set up the wall bars, happily stood at the bottom and with verbal encouragement from a member of staff, she was able to get to the top of the ladder. She was able to move with ease around the room, exploring the different pieces of equipment and enjoying the session in the gym.

Nathan was very confident in knowing how to dial the phone number to the talking clock and didn’t need any prompting.

Beth used cooking utensils appropriately when making a pizza. She used a spoon to put the sauce on the pizza base, used a grater for the cheese and got all her equipment out ready. Beth can follow an in-task schedule.

In literacy, David was able to independently write what the fruit was, but needed adult support when describing it. He was very engaged in his learning and finished it.

In Numeracy, Hayyan was learning about positional language. An adult supported him with demonstrating 'on', 'under' and 'in' using different equipment, which included the stepping stones, a hula hoop and a table. This also helped Hayyan practice his gross motor skills.
