Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On Monday 13th November, some of our students from Upper School performed Shakespeare's play Anthony & Cleopatra at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable. We rehearsed weekly in the month leading up to the show. Other students from Upper School also helped make props and scenery during their creative arts lessons.
Marcus, William, Francesco, Casper, Thomas and a couple of other students performed beautifully to a large audience. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we were very proud of all of them.
The students have had a great time this afternoon, watching a production of Robin Hood!
Thanks to everyone who donated to our local food bank with Harvest Festival donations!
We raised £100.30 for 'Wear it Pink Day', raising money for breast cancer!
As part of St Albans theme day, classes across the school have used their community visits to go to St Albans Cathedral. They enjoyed a tour around the Cathedral using visual worksheets, taking part in art activities and engaging with interactive activities such as dressing up as Romans. Some students particularly enjoyed dressing up!
A great and immersive community visit was had by all!
Watling View’s student School Council held it’s first meeting of the year on Friday 6th October.
Class representatives got together to meet each other and learn about their roles for the year. Their first order of business will be to return to their friends in class and ask them some questions about lunch time and playground activities. What kind of activities do we like to do for leisure, and what would we like to see more of?
At the next meeting they will represent their friends and share the results of this consultation exercise, and the school will listen to the feedback and help organise new opportunities for pupils to enjoy themselves and play together during their lunch time break.
Add some horror to your home this Halloween by decorating your own spooky windchime. All proceeds from this children's Halloween event will be donated to our chosen charity of the year – Brain Tumour Research.
Held at Burston Garden Centre, St Albans AL2 2DS
Teaching Personnel created National Teaching Assistants’ Day in 2012 after realising something was amiss. The calendar was full of red letter awareness days for all varieties of causes in education. Yet nobody had given much thought to the unglamorous yet vital work that teaching assistants do in our classrooms every day.
Today we are celebrating National Teaching Assistant's Day in recognition of all the amazing hard work and dedication they show towards our students and their education.
A huge thank you to our incredible Teaching Assistants!!!
On Thursday 6th July 2023, we enjoyed a beautiful evening celebrating our seven leavers journeys and many achievements during their time here at Watling View School. As part of the ceremony they received a specially bound Record of Achievement and certificates.
We will miss them very much but wish them all the very best in their future aspirations!
Lower Middle School and Early years had an amazing trip to Gravely Fruit Farm. We picked strawberries, played in the park and sand pit, jumped and ran across huge bouncy pillows and enjoyed a bumpy tractor ride! We were all blown away by beautiful site, the range of exciting activities and the lovely staff who made the day such a special experience for our pupils.
